With the government encouraging the development of the sector with enabling policies such as generation based incentives and accelerated depreciation, a large number of wind turbine manufacturers are setting up base in the country. For a maturing industry, it is now time for consolidation and diversifi cation. With the C-WET projecting a capacity of about 48 GW of wind power in the country, the right policy environment, state-level incentives and a further relaxation on the duty on imported equipment will bolster the industry and take it to new heights.
In view of the amazing success story that wind power has been in India, we decided to come out with this wind power special issue.
